Our summer volunteering programme gets underway across the country. In Warwick, KiB volunteers took Paddington to visit Leycester House Care Home, to chat about books and play favourite board games.
KiB’s Caty Oates, who led the visit, says: “We had so many interesting and varied conversations, including discussions about growing up in the war, life as a corporate lawyer, travelling to Australia, how hair styles have changed over the years and whether everyone likes marmalade – Paddington definitely does!”
Meanwhile, at London’s Whittington Hospital, volunteer Wooju hands out her lovely handmade creations to cheer up patients; and Ameena plays her flute. Life is better when we all share our talents and stories!
